CRAFT: Gotapatti is an antiquated craft of Rajasthan initiated in the Mughal era. It is an exquisite form of fabric ornamentation. In good old days it was done using real gold and silver woven gota, cut into various shapes as per the designs and appliquéd on the base fabric to be finished with a running or a couching stitch. The gold and silver have now been substituted with lurex or silver coated copper, nevertheless the glory and sheen of the Gota work has not diminished and it still enthrals its takers.
